The Southern California Chapter of the Antique Studebaker Club held its first official meeting and the election of officers on Sunday, July 28, 2002 at Johnny Reb’s Restaurant in Long Beach, California.

Many of the objectives of the Club, are to enjoy Antique Studebakers, driving and repairing them, learning about them and enjoying the company of people with similar interests. Members are encouraged to drive their antique Studebaker whenever possible to Club events, but are not required to do so. Members are encouraged to suggest or organize tours with the approval** of Club officers. Occasionally Club tours may be held in conjunction with other automobile clubs. Tours will be planned considering the limitations of antique cars regarding speed, distance, etc.

All members are invited to join in all Club activities. All participating vehicles are required to have current registration and to carry mandatory state-required personal insurance and are encouraged to carry more than minimum insurance. Participating vehicles are further requested to carry at least one fire extinguisher at all times. Expenses incurred on tours and events will be borne by the individual member and not by the Club unless otherwise specified in the tour notice. This may include, but is not limited to gasoline and oil, cost of meals, entry fees into tour destinations, tolls and miscellaneous charges not administered by the Club.

** Approval of Club officers is required to provide tour insurance under terms of the policy of the National Antique Studebaker Club, and to provide publicity of the event with national publications.
